Crypto User Loses $50 Million in Address Poisoning Scam: CoinDesk Report

A cryptocurrency user reportedly lost $50 million in an "address poisoning" scam, according to CoinDesk. The scam involved the attacker sending a small amount of cryptocurrency, referred to as "dust," to the victim's transaction history. This caused the victim to inadvertently copy the scammer's address when making a transaction, resulting in the funds being sent to the attacker instead. Address poisoning is a type of crypto scam where malicious actors try to trick users into sending funds to the wrong address.
